END OF COLD WAR

Picture
The U.S.S.R. was divided  up into 15 independent republics. They weren't very united and many of theses republics became democratic, this ended the cold war. With 15 new nations the U.S worried about what would happen to all of the old Soviet nuclear weapons. Bush met with Yeltsin and worked out the START II treaty. It promised to reduce nuclear weapons by 2/3.
